25 weeks old

time sure flies. can't believe i haven't posted since 2/20. sorry for all of the anxious viewers out there! chloe's doing great! we finally got a combination of prescription/lotion/ and benadryl that has helped clear up her eczema and cradle cap. we still have to keep on top of the eczema every day and she still is having a rash on her body, but her face is much better. she's also sleeping better too...although...not as much as we'd like. she ends up in our bed every night mostly because it's too hard for me to get up several times a night and then feel semi-human at work the next day. she's hilarious though. rolling over and starting to try and crawl. she's laughing and screeching ( i call it singing) she's recently found her feet and yesterday discovered that she can put her toes in her mouth. that was fun. she's reaching and grabbing and touching everything...and since she'll be mobile soon, we have to be much more aware of what she's grabbing at. a little bit more stressful, but she's so cute..who cares. 6 month checkup next friday and i'm on spring break soon, so that'll be fun. she still loves her bouncer and exersaucer. had a little high chair time yesterday while i cooked lunch. figured out where her mouth goes on the sippy cup, but didn't figure out she needed to suck. soon enough...she's really fascinated by watching us eat, so i think she's on her way to solids soon too. a whole new adventure there..i'm sure.

5 months old

our little girl is more her own person every day. she is very active and is playing more by herself oftentimes singing and making raspberries with her lips to the point where you have to towel off!
she's super social and loves it when you smile at her and when daddy plays guitar (see video) yesterday, i put her in a 6 month outfit and she barely fit! she had her first taste of formula over the weekend and had no adverse reactions..so we're excited about that. she rolls all over the place and is trying to figure out how to crawl, but sometimes can't get her big belly off the ground. she's pretty good with scooting backwards..hasn't figured out forward yet. we're going to be in trouble soon enough! next month we'll get the green light to start introducing foods. can't wait. she already seems interested in watching us eat, so i think that she'll be ready. we're still fighting with her full body eczema. it's quite annoying..but we just have to lube her up with lotion several times a day to keep it under control. the doc says it could last anywhere up to 2 years, but we're keeping fingers crossed that it doesn't last THAT long! in any case, she is hugely fun and is more so every day that she becomes more active and responsive. i wish that she would sleep a little bit more regularly, but nevertheless, i could never have imagined a love like this. :)

chloe rolled over from back to front yesterday for the first time. she was laying on the floor in front of the tv and saw a toy just out of her readch. she tried a couple of times and got onto her sid and then finally rolled over all the way. she also rolled b ack to her back as well. talked to papa dave today and she's apparently done it twice today sounds like she' practicing her new skill!will try to get it on video to share.

97th percentile baby

Chloe is huge. At 19 weeks (4 months + 1 week), she is currently 17 pounds (97th %), 25 inches long (85th %), and has a 41 cm head circumference (50th %). She had her 2nd round of shots on monday and had a couple of fussy/sleepy days, but has recovered and is back to her silly smiley self. she hasn't quite gotten into a sleep routine at night...some nights she's down from 9 - 6, other nights, she's up every 3 hours. it's a crap shoot. we're hoping that she settles into some sleep patterns soon. she starts her night at 7pm in the crib, and then around 2-3, i bring her to bed with us and jimmeh gets her up at 8. she LOVES her jumper...nothing says fun like bouncing upright. she's so used to it now, that when you hold her up so she's standing on the carpet, she still wants to bounce! she also has been practicing laughing. she hasn't quite figured it out yet and surprises herself everytime she does. it's hilarious. am trying to get it on video, but it's very unpredictable. she's very chatty most of the time...talking to herself, making raspberries with her tongue. grandma katy came down last weekend and we had dinner with the cousins...tiff, jim, sam and sydney. you'll see them in the photos. all is well with us. just busy with all things baby.

happy new year!

it's been a busy couple of weeks since i last blogged. the week before christmas i was sick and still working so that was a drain! then jimmeh caught my cold and was sick the week of christmas. thankfully, chloe didn't get the cold as bad as we did. she had a runny nose and was stuffy for a couple of days, but a few nights with the humidifier seemed to do the trick.

"successfully" transitioned chloe to her crib at night. thankfully, she took to it rather well and we didn't have to cry it out with her. she's taking all naps and most of the night in her crib. i usually bring her into bed before i go to work and on the weekends when i get to sleep in. she's still working on sleeping through the night. some nights we'll get 7 hours in a row, other nights it's only 2-3 hours. so it's an adjustment for me to get out of bed to tend to her instead of just rolling over. but i know that in the long run, it'll be better for her to be in the crib.

the holidays were a blur. lots of visiting with family and friends. then we had a few days after the first to relax and try to gear up for going back to work. we also had a crazy storm that first week so i was thankful that i didn't have to leave the house.

all in all, our new little family is doing well. chloe's 4 month appointment is on the 21st so we'll have her stats updated then. not looking forward to the second round of shots, but if it's anything like last time, chloe will do quite well. her new favorite thing is her doorway jumper and making bubbles with her lips. i think that she's working on getting teeth as she's started the drool factory and wants to jams everything in her mouth and gnaw on it. she's still lots of fun and my favorite thing is when either jimmeh or i say hi to her she gets her gummy grin and a full body wiggle going. it sure makes my day! here are some random photos from our vacation visits.
