summertime steppin' out

e

s
lots of new sounds from twinkles these days. oink ( more like a snort), buzzing at the bees in the yard, and is putting sounds together like "inowant" "idoit" no is still very popular, but hi and bye are a close second. she is still working on the hand movements for itsy bitsy spider and pat-a-cake. and the cutest...she likes to "read" to either gabba-gabba or one of her bears when it's bed time. she shows them the pictures by smashing their faces onto the pages. yesterday she had her first band-aid. she really likes to find snails and then proceeds to pick their shells off. poor snails. anyway, she came inside with blood all over her thumb. she wasn't too thrilled about the band-aid, but got used to it in the end. she LOVES being outside and has almost mastered letting herself in and out of the screen door. she wishes the cats would let her play with them more, and/or throw stuff at them.. they don't really go for that much to chloe's chagrin.

chloe's new drumkit

dave got a new drumkit for his belated birthday and chloe thinks it belongs to her.

she loves to be outside and recently laid down on top of me so that we could look up at the wind in the trees together. she's a total sweet pea. loves to give hugs and kisses too and has been getting much better about her kisses not being open-mouthed and not so sloppy...which is a plus.
we have a bird's nest in the big tree in the backyard and the male is super protective. he's been hurling himself at the cats in the window but also has taken to flying at his own reflection in the window. of course, chloe was interested as well.
the best thing is that she loves life and is genuinely happy most of the time. she's still working on the words...ny ny means nighty night and unfortunately has started mimicking most sounds that come out of our mouths...even the bad ones! so momma needs to work on that! :) am looking forward to summer and the swim & gym classes that we're going to take together. she still loves the park and is learning that not everything is hers. that's going to take a while, though. people can't believe that she's only 19 months when they meet her. she's growing so fast that sometimes she looks taller after a nap! her new favorite thing is to jump and dance and is figuring how to make her body move around. see video below!
